Blackjack Decisions That Lower the House Edge
The short version of basic strategy. Follow it consistently and the edge drops to about half a percent.
Always
Split aces and eights. Double 11 against anything but an ace. Stand on hard 17 or more. Hit hard 8 or less.
Dealer shows 2 to 6
Stand on hard 12 to 16 (hit 12 against a 2 or 3). Double 9 against 3 to 6. Double 10. Split 2s, 3s, 6s, 7s and 9s.
Dealer shows 7 to ace
Hit hard 12 to 16. Double 10 only against 2 to 9. Do not split 5s or 10s. Hit soft 17 or less.
Never
Take insurance, split 10s, stand on soft 17, or chase a loss with a bigger bet than your plan allows.
Live Dealer Blackjack Versus Originals
Live tables give you a human dealer, real cards from a shoe and a chat window. Hands take a minute or so, minimums start around a few CA$ and seats can fill during evening hours in Eastern time. Infinite-style tables remove the seat limit by dealing one hand to everyone.

Bankroll guidance
Blackjack variance is moderate. A bankroll of 40 to 50 base bets, for example CA$100 at CA$2 hands, absorbs normal swings. Doubling and splitting require up to four base bets on a single hand, so keep that headroom.
